Our Top 5 Favorite Blogs of 2023 (So Far)
Phew — believe it or not — it’s the first week of October, and to kick off Q4, we’re sharing Lane and I’s favorite blogs of the year to-date!
In case you missed any of these amazing reads, if I might say so myself, check out the quick links to our favs below. 👇
(I’m about to step it up because Lane’s beating me with 3 out of the 5 on the list…not that we’re competitive or anything… 😉) Anyways… in no particular order, here are our top 5 favorite blogs of 2023 so far:
1. 3 Steps to Writing Great Copy For Your Business
After six years of writing copy for brands, I realized we needed a framework for writing great copy. So, Lane and I developed a 3-step plan for copywriting success. Here’s what we came up with.
2. Debunking 3 Myths About Brand Messaging
Brand Messaging refers to how your business or brand communicates to customers. After helping so many businesses with their brand messaging, I’ve identified three common myths that I regularly help my clients “debunk” right out of the gate, before we dive into the heart of their messaging project. So now, I’m going to share these with you!
3. The Problem With Bare Minimum Bookkeeping
Every business has to do bookkeeping. It’s one of those “comes with the territory of having a business” things. Sure, you have to do your books for taxes every year, but have you considered the other benefits of keeping good books? Have you thought about how valuable your bookkeeping can be for building a healthy, growing business?
4. Get the Haircut
How something as simple as a haircut can make a big impact on our businesses. Yes, this is a blog about a haircut. Lane neglected his self-care for too long, and when he finally got the haircut — it reminded him of something so important: business health and business owner health are directly correlated.
5. Learn How to Wield Your Influence
We all have influence. Maybe you are an “influencer” and you already knew that. Or maybe you need a reminder that people are influenced by what you do. Yes…YOU! What you do makes an impact. How you do what you do influences the results. Influence in and of itself is not a good or bad thing. It just is. It can be used in both good and bad ways. Don’t hear “influence” and think “manipulation.” Read on for the Top 6 Factors of Influence and our key bite-sized takeaways from Robert B. Cialdini’s book, Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion.
