Legacy Hill Farm (LHF), Lane’s family’s wedding venue in Welch, Minnesota — just outside Minneapolis and St.Paul — began as a serene private family farm and was transformed into a gorgeous outdoor wedding and event venue in 2015. LHF has since hosted over 500 weddings and events and served more than 70,000 guests and counting! We’ve been working with them on a wide range of marketing and finance services since 2017, and we’ve helped them grow a sustainable business in a competitive market that has ebbed and flowed over the years.

The Goal
We’ve provided and continue to provide a wide variety of services for Legacy Hill Farm. This portfolio page focuses primarily on the website and some design projects we’ve completed for them.
When Legacy Hill Farm first came to us in 2017, they knew with their initial success and growing interest from customers in their first two years of business that they needed to expand their marketing efforts.
The goal was not only to build them a beautiful, effective website but also to do so in an industry-disruptive manner. We paid attention to what engaged couples were really looking for so we could help LHF serve customers better than any other venue in the industry. Couples wanted to see beautiful photos of the venue spaces, proof of other happy couples, pricing information, and dates/availability. At the time and even still today, there are no venues we’re aware of (and we’ve done a lot of benchmarking) that make all of those things easily accessible and self-service on a website. That’s what we set out to do for Legacy Hill Farm.
They needed a website that would make the right first impression, position themselves as a premiere wedding venue, showcase their picturesque property, and allow users to choose their date and book a wedding venue without ever having to tour.
The Solution
Initially, we collaborated with their team to update their existing website. We did brand messaging, helped with website copywriting, and added and updated pages. We also researched and implemented a unique booking software that allowed customers to view pricing, real-time availability of dates and book dates right on the website, without ever having to tour.
In 2022, LHF decided to take the step to create a fresh, new website. The LHF property had undergone some significant improvements, and there were some shifts happening in the industry. To stay competitive and better connect with their target customers — who were seeking both a luxurious and affordable venue — we built them a new custom website, this time on the newer Squarespace 7.1.
We revisited and updated about 80-90% of the website copywriting to make it fresh and fit LHF’s current brand voice and direction. We also built out a robust website map, which included additional pages that would improve the customer experience and reduce administrative efforts for the LHF team.
For the design, we sought to encapsulate the enchanting countryside atmosphere and unique French-industrial charm of the property and all its distinct spaces. We incorporated LHF’s sophisticated color palette alongside high-quality images and top-notch custom videos to showcase the venue's picturesque landscapes and event spaces.
We created a website that not only visually captivates visitors but also provides the practical information couples are looking for. We made it easier than ever for couples to book their venue using the real-time availability booking calendar.
LHF’s website is a digital extension of the venue itself — inviting couples to explore the magic of their wedding day at Legacy Hill Farm.
