5 Squarespace Font Pairings We Love for 2024
The fonts you choose for your brand and website play a significant role in setting the tone for your organization. Thoughtfully chosen fonts that are used consistently help to establish professionalism and trust in a brand.
If you want a deeper dive into the importance of typography in creating a cohesive brand, be sure to check out our previous blog post: How to Choose Brand Fonts.
Today, we’re sharing specific examples of Squarespace font pairings we’re loving this year! Squarespace provides its own default “Font Packs,” which generally include well-matched typefaces, but we want to give you some more unique ideas that allow you to set your brand and business apart from the standard pairings everyone is using.
What We Consider When Choosing Squarespace Font Pairings
Readability
As much as we might admire the beauty of a specialty font’s flourishes, the number one goal here is to get your message across clearly. That’s why it’s important to always choose well-designed, highly legible typefaces that allow the user to digest the content easily without having to strain their eyes to read.
Establishing a Mood
There are so many fonts out there and each has its own character. The fonts you choose to use on your website should reflect your brand’s vibe. Are you evoking a feeling of playfulness and whimsy or a more modern and clean approach?
Hierarchy & Consistency
As you tell your brand story, your fonts should work for you to help establish a clear hierarchy that shows the viewer where to look first, second, and third. You can differentiate between headlines, body copy, and callouts by using different typefaces, font weights, or type treatments in consistent ways. The goal is to create visual interest and clarity without overwhelming users, so it’s important to limit the number of typefaces while still having enough variation to establish a clear hierarchy.
While you could utilize the many font weights and type treatments within one type family, we usually recommend 2–3 fonts:
A display font for headings
A simpler, highly legible font for body text
A third accent font that adds some extra personality to callouts or buttons–if brand applicable
Contrast & Harmony
While the fonts that are paired together should have a sense of compatibility, they shouldn’t be too similar in structure or weight. When choosing typefaces that work together well, we like to contrast serif against sans-serif or thick fonts against thin fonts. We also consider the character width and use of type treatments like all-caps or italic settings.

While fonts evoke personality and emotion, their main role is to communicate your message in a manner that connects with your buyers.
